Stone keeps its own history. Working it means learning to listen to it, understanding its nature and discovering the form it hides inside.

01 / Background

About me

My relationship with stone was born from working directly with the material, from experience and from the knowledge gained over the years.

I trained mainly in the field, learning from practice, from observation and from contact with traditional materials and techniques.

Throughout my career I have worked both in marble sculpture and in traditional stone building, especially in Umbria, where this material is part of the history, the landscape and the identity of its people.

Each experience has let me deepen my knowledge of the craft and develop a personal way of understanding handwork, based on respect for the material, precision and sensitivity.

02 / The craft

Listening to the stone

For me, working stone means building a direct relationship with nature. Every block has its own character, its limits and its possibilities.

Before cutting, you need to observe, understand the structure of the material and let the stone itself suggest the way.

Sculpture and traditional building share the same essence: knowledge of the material and respect for techniques handed down through generations.

I want to keep that bond between handwork, the land and nature. A bond in which experience, patience and sensitivity matter as much as technique.

Every work is a meeting between the craftsman’s intention and the personality of the stone. My job is to find the balance between the two.
